I believe that content presented to students should be done so in an appealing way. Lessons should be relevant to the students and allow creative growth. It is also important to understand that each student is unique. Because of this, content should be taught in multiple ways that appeal to the different styles of learning. There are many different ways to present and apply content in ways that appeal to the students. One such example is GarageBand. This program allows users to create songs with all kinds of instruments with ease. Also the midi instruments used in the program are decent quality so students can listen to their creations when finished. Traditional forms of composing can also be entertaining when presented correctly. It may be possible to have students create arrangements of their favorite songs. In my elementary lesson plans, I like to have my class learn concepts by performing games that involve them. For example, When learning about scales, I envisioned a large staff laid out on the floor where students could move from note to note while singing to help the students learn about scales in a fun way that got them moving.
