Each student has a different style of learning that they are predetermined to learn best from. It is important for teachers to remember this and then create lessons to cater to these styles. Another strategy is to relate content that is relevant to the class back to the material studied. By doing this, students learn by being entertained by something they like. Creating is also an exceptionally effective strategy, By allowing students to take what they've learned and apply it to a project where they have to compose their own piece. Creating is higher on Bloom's Taxonomy so, is a truly effective strategy to get students involved in their own learning. These compositions could also be played by and to peers to show the composers their end products. I am a firm believer that it is easier to understand a concept when you know more about it. Therefore, I believe that history, theory, and aural skills are necessary to the students' success.
