I believe that it is ethical to change some aspects of our instruction to help our students. Students learn in different ways and teachers sometimes don't explain concepts well. When thus happens, I believe that changes must be made to the instruction in order to help the students learn the class content. Additionally, it is easy to think of students as only existing when at school, but teachers must keep in mind that they have lives outside the confines of the music classroom. Because of this, I believe that it is necessary to find out what is going on in the lives of our students, then we can be better suited to help them. Sometimes students aren't equipped to meet expectations because of something going on in their home lives. When this happens, teachers should try to work with the student's needs. All of this being said, I also believe that teachers should have high standards and even though some students may not be able to meet them right away, it is important to work with the students to get them to that level.
